I Love you and I Want to Capture You For All Time
It wasn’t until I had my son in 2011 that I truly understood a mother’s love. I have so much respect for my beautiful mum bringing up my sister and I on her own. She is so caring, kind and selfless and always trying to make things nice for everybody else.
I know she would love to get some beautiful updated photos of herself and to have an amazing pampering experience and photos of the 3 of us. It would also be a great opportunity to get together and spend quality time, doing something girly. Living far away from each other means the times we do spend together are all the more precious.

I am ashamed to admit that even as a professional photographer I don’t have any professional pictures with my mother or of the 3 of us together. It is one of those items on the one day list that always gets pushed to the bottom.
My mum is like most mums and doesn’t like photos of herself but I am on a mission to get my mum images that she will love, to make her feel beautiful, seen and heard.
So this year I have made a promise to myself to book in a photoshoot with my mum and sister. I know I will regret it if I don’t. So this is what I recommend for you to do as well.
Treat your mum. Let her not worry about anything for a day and have a day that’s all about of her. She will have her hair and make-up done, she will be styled and guided in her posing. And if you want to join her for a double makeover? Even better! You know she would love that!

Capturing relationships is one of my favourite parts of being a portrait photographer. Especially the mother and daughter relationship which so special. The best thing about having a glamorous photoshoot experience with your mother is that you can have an amazingly fun experience together. The icing on the top is that you will have beautiful legacy portraits that you and your family will cherish for a life time.
